Oásis Parque is located five minutes from Portimão, one of the main cities in the Algarve and where the River Arade flows from. Formerly navigated by Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs and Crusaders, it is said to be the Phonencians that gave the name to the river, “Arvad”, which in their language signifies safe refuge and hence the name Arade. Today you can navigate these in the various cruises that depart from Portimão to Silves and rediscover the shores that have remained untouched throughout time.
